President Scott Puckett opened the meeting.
Sergeant Bob Schultz collected money from all attending Rotarians.
The speaker was Representative Jackie Walorski. She serves on the following committees: House Agriculture subcommittees of Nutrition and Farm Commodities and Risk Management; House Armed Services subcommittees Tactical Air & Land Forces and Seapower Forces; House Veteran’ Affairs subcommittee Oversight and Investigations.
She discussed recent bills she sponsored including: Prohibition to transfer detainees to the mainland from Guantanomo (HR5351); VA Accountability Act (HR4977); Transparency in National Security Act (HR4922); Electronic Warfare Capabilities Enhancement Act (HR 4851).
The bulk of her time spent discussing House Republican plans next year to fight poverty, spur economic growth and simplify the tax code.
