Elkhart Rotary Club Meeting Bulletin, May 21, 2018
 
Acting President Peter Norton called the meeting to order in President Ann McCuistion’s absence.
 
Aileac Deegan provided some inspirational words, including an Irish Blessing, then the Pledge and Four-Way Test.
 
Phil Penn introduced today's guests: Visiting Rotarian Scott Franko from Topsail Island Rotary Club, and Rotarian guests Rich Love (Andrew Harmon), Julia Schochetti, Rotary Exchange Student (Tony Warning), Ashley Bowen (Bill Rieth), and Allie Conniff (Brad Conniff). Welcome to all our guests!
 
Announcements:
  • Peter Norton - - A reminder, NO MEETING ON MEMORIAL DAY. Our next meeting will be Monday, June 4, featuring a program on the Elkhart Jazz Festival, presented by David Smith and Kurt Janowsky.
  • Doug Risser - - June 15-19, the Elkhart Rotary Club will host 7 Rotarians from Argentina. Please contact Doug if you are able to help with our guests; from hosting them in your home to transportation and events. Thanks in advance for your help.
  • Sherm Hansen - - Announced that each Monday in June, Sharon Hernstein of Elkhart Audiology will be available after meetings to work with Rotarians who may want to get access to The Loop, a hearing-assist system that will be installed at The Matterhorn in June - -sponsored by none other than our Elkhart Rotary Club!
  • Dean Bergeman introduced Elkhart Memorial High School’s Class of 2018 “TOP TEN” Seniors. They included: Shelby Chapman, Madeline Crosbie, Joel DeFries, Abby Doncilovic, Maggie Fashbaugh, Dinah Gilbert, Sydney Grahovac, Megan Irons, Mark Nywening, Nimita Patel, Priya Patel, Diego Puga, and Bailey Stepke (yes, we know that’s actually more than 10). Each was given a brief introduction and mentioned something they enjoyed about their high school experience. We wish them the best of luck moving forward in their futures.
Today’s Sergeant, Bill Rieth had a holiday-themed session of fines - - all for a good cause - -now pay up!
