President Peter Norton welcomed the club and introduced Sharon Hirstein who provided inspirational words, led the Pledge and Four Way Test. Ashley Bowen introduced our guests.
 
Today's Announcements:
  • Dave Lehman: If you’d like to donate a turkey to Matterhorn’s Thanksgiving Dinner for the Salvation Army, bring $20 to the next meeting!
  • Julie Cotton: Get ready for Rotary Games Volunteer Drive! Captains will receive an email this week and we’ll get started November 12, earning points based on the PC2 (squared) Participation, Connection, Promotion, and Celebration format.
  • Matt Lentsch: Friday December 7 will be Restaurant Fundraising, followed by Rotary Bell Ringing for Salvation Army on Saturday, December 8. Signup Sheets coming soon!
  • Erin Wagler: Our Marketing Committee needs your photos! Send to elkhartnoonrotary@gmail.com so we can help promote our club’s volunteer engagement and service to our community.
  • Dean Bergeman introduced the November Elkhart High School Students.
  • TUESDAY, December 11 is our joint meeting with the Kiwanis Club (no regular meeting on December 10)
Sergeant Stan Cohen asked Rotarians to open their pockets for some fun fines. Rotary fines occur weekly and are pooled into a fund. In the spring approximately $10,000 is distributed as grants to not for profit organizations around our county.

Buck gave a great overview of the upcoming Elkhart High School merger, in particular, the changes to the respective athletic departments, including the new mascot - - the Lions - - and their new Elkhart High School colors, royal blue and gold.
