After a brief hiatus for the Labor Day Holiday, the Elkhart Rotary Club returned to the Matterhorn for our weekly noon meeting.

President Elect Candy Yoder opened the meeting for ailing President Peter Norton, introducing Mick Faloon who provided some thoughtful words, led the Pledge of Allegiance and our Four-Way Test.

Guests today included Honorary Rotarian Art Decio, as well as guests of Rotarians Melinda Konrath-Fielding (Tom Eisele), Tammy Holland (Tom Neat), Anne Marie (Mick Faloon's spouse), and Josh Bowers (Brad Canniff).

Reminders:
  • There will be a Taste of the Gardens Wrapup Meeting on Monday, September 17 and 11 a.m. preceding the noon meeting. Attend to give feedback or suggestions on improving the event moving forward.
  • Register in advance for the October 5 District 6540 Foundation Dinner.
Today's Sergeant, Sherm Hansen made short work of obtaining fines from Members, largely through their athletic-supporting practices. Remember, fines raised at meetings throughout the year totaling approximately $10,000 support local not-for-profits through grants awarded in the spring. Cough it up!

Today's distinguished speaker, District 6540 Governor Dan Ryan presented to the club, informing of current initiatives, encouraging participation among the club members, as well as personally inviting members to attend the October 5 District 6540 Foundation Dinner.
