Today's meeting welcomed Melinda Konrath-Fielding, executive director/CEO of Child and Parent Services (CAPS) and Magistrate Deborah Domine of the Elkhart County Juvenile Court.
 
 
President Peter Norton opened the meeting and welcomed Mick Faloon to provide some inspirational words, the Pledge and Four-Way Test.
 
Nick Corpe introduced our guests, including visiting Rotarian Tammy Friesen from the Goshen Rotary Club; club guests included Deb Osza (Merritt Diltz), Jenna VanDePutte (Tom Eisele), Jason Bryant (Doug Risser), JT Jacobson (Scott Puckett), Aaron Clow (Brian Smith), and Allie Canniff (Brad Canniff).
 
Today's Announcements:
  • Tony Warning thanked members who purchased advertisements on the club placemats; Thanks to 47 advertisers, we raised $13,700 which supports our club-sponsored Interact Club, which has 38 members this year and will partake in several service projects including a Habitat for Humanity Project as well as their annual service project to Costa Rica. 
  • Susan Ginther reminded the club that coming up on October 22, we will celebrate our "Fifth Monday" as a dinner event - - (yes, we know that's not even the fifth Monday, but just go with us on this). Cash bar will open at 5:30, with dinner at 6:30. Mark you calendars for some fun - - this is not a typical lunch meeting! If you show up at noon, you'll be 5 and a half hours early!
  • Tom McArthur provided a list of volunteer opportunities to get Rotarians engaged in our community - - see Tom for more information.
  • Erin Wagler of the Marketing Committee asked Rotarians if they have any 'giveaways' they'd like to provide as prizes for Rotarians who volunteer in the community and help promote our Mission through social media. Questions? Reach out to Erin.
  • Peter Norton reminded the club that this Thursday is Thirsty Thursday at Artisan - -be there for some fun and fellowship over a glass of your favorite....

​​​​​​​Today's Sergeant, Stan Cohen, extracted fines from our Members - - Remember, fines raised at meetings throughout the year totaling approximately $10,000 support local not-for-profits through grants awarded in the spring. Cough it up!
