There’s a lot more to Gary Sieber than meets the eye. Best known for Saturday morning weather poetry (“The Weather Could be Verse”), Gary served as Director of News and Public Affairs at WNDU-TV from 1985-1991. He has worked at Channel 16 since 1980. Sieber has supervised the education programs offered through WNDU for the University of Notre Dame since 1991, and still teaches Broadcast Journalism specializing in News Writing, Ethics, and Journalism Law as an Adjunct Professor of Film, Television, and Theatre at The University of Notre Dame.

In addition, Sieber has managed FCC regulatory and First Amendment legal matters for WNDU. From 1992 to 2003, Sieber supervised production and writing of the nationally distributed PBS documentary series Today’s Life Choices, which garnered numerous honors including a Gabriel and several awards from the prestigious New York Festivals. Sieber hosted morning radio news and interview programs on local stations WTRC and 95.3 MNC, and is a frequent on-air host for programs airing on WNIT-TV Public Television.

During the regular Monday-Friday workday, Sieber is Director of Sales at Welch Packaging based in Elkhart.

Sieber is a 1981 graduate of Notre Dame. He began his college career in Physics before changing paths and pursuing his media vocation through concentrations in government, economics, history, and literature. As a result, he has what might be described as an eclectic set of interests – which explains why he enjoys reporting and interviewing on a wide variety of topics, including the weather, of course! He's also a self-confessed golf nut, having played in places around the globe - for example, at the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland, Pebble Beach, Italy, Ireland, and even on the permafrost north of Fairbanks, Alaska."

This will again be a hybrid meeting, with your choice of attending in-person or from afar via online Crowdcast. Here's the link to join in advance to save your space, or to join the day of the meeting.
